About us

We were born out of love for the pure northern wilderness. Real food culture is close to our hearts.

Café Uuttusuo is in Ruka, surrounded by beautiful nature where the main ski trails meet, right on the Vuosseli multi-use trail and the loop trail. You can also drive right up to our door.

We give a warm welcome to skiers, cyclists, hikers and snowmobilers, and to travellers who come for the peace and quiet. We share the stories of local flavours and the tradition of truly valuing food.

The pure taste of the north.

Our ingredients come from the local area: berries, fish and whatever the season brings. Eat with us or take your food to go.

Lunch

Salmon and reindeer soup every day, a changing vegetarian or vegan soup and a changing hot dish.

Our soups and dishes are also available to take away.

Private events

Our space can be rented for all kinds of events, with food and drinks. We plan it together with you.

Arrive on skis, by bike, on foot, by car or by snowmobile – this is the place to warm up and enjoy good food.

    A cosy, warming fireplace for cold fingers and long coffee breaks.

  2. Social BBQ grill table

    On our terrace there is a Social BBQ grill table (opens in a new tab), where we cook outdoors and host changing themed events. You can also order your own grill table through us, and we organise demonstrations.

  3. Dogs welcome

    Your dog can join you on your break, both inside and outside.

  4. Easy to reach

    You can drive right up to the door, and parking is free.

On the trail,
in every season.

The Vuosseli multi-use trail runs right past our door. Ski tracks in winter, hiking paths and bike trails in the autumn colours – and always the same warm place to stop.
